The Mega Millions prize is paid in graduated installments. If there is more than one winner, the jackpot will be divided proportionally. But, there is no guarantee that the next draw will have a winning ticket. Since the rules changed in June, there has not been a jackpot winner in the game since July 24. However, the jackpot could reach half a billion by the end of the year.
