Adam Paulisick
Adam is a serial entrepreneur and adjunct professor of entrepreneurship (sales, marketing and digital product design) at Carnegie Mellon’s Tepper School of Business’s graduate level. A passionate proponent for data-driven advertising and marketing strategies with extensive international experience in online research, analytics and analysis; Adam currently serves as Chief Product Officer at Commerce Signals.
Early Life and Education
Adam Paulisick hails from Pittsburgh and graduated from Carnegie Mellon University (CMU). Alongside Mueller, they founded Headstorm as a way for those with ideas to craft more cohesive business visions through brainstorming sessions and collaboration. It has become a catalyst to spark Pittsburgh’s innovation economy while supporting university entrepreneurship efforts. Prior to Headstorm, Paulisick served as Senior Product Executive of Nielsen Catalina Solutions; then served as an industry evangelist advocating location-based advertising and marketing supported by sales or other forms of consumer data; now as Chief Product Officer of Commerce Signals while teaching entrepreneurial classes at Carnegie Mellon University.
Professional Career
Adam Paulisick has long been recognized for his industry advocacy and product leadership within advertising based on sales, demographic and other forms of consumer data. At Nielsen Catalina Solutions he was responsible for business development, marketing and product leadership throughout both North America and Europe.
Adam is a regular speaker at leading industry events such as AdTech San Francisco and AdWeek NYC, and serves as an adjunct professor at Carnegie Mellon University’s Tepper School of Business teaching sales, marketing, and digital product design.
Adam is also the founder of maad labs, a Pittsburgh technology design firm and innovation lab. At maad Labs he serves as mentor at its incubator program as well as co-hosting its weekly podcast The Product Show. Furthermore, Adam hosts XchangePgh – an initiative which brings Pittsburgh entrepreneurs together for networking, strategy sessions and free meals – so as to refine and renew their ideas in an atmosphere rich with networking, strategy sessions and free meals.
Achievement and Honors
Adam Paulisick serves as Chief Product Officer for TEEMA Solutions Group, a human resources and staffing firm, while simultaneously teaching adjunct professor of entrepreneurship at Carnegie Mellon University. Additionally, Adam maintains strong ties to Pittsburgh ad tech and data venture communities and educates future data-driven entrepreneurs through mentoring startups as well as hosting/facilitating XchangePgh, an event convening local tech community members at once. Adam was also co-founder of maad labs.
Personal Life
Paulisick works full time as Chief Product Officer of Commerce Signals, a firm that analyzes electronic payments transactions for market and advertising research. In addition, he teaches part-time at Carnegie Mellon University and participates in Fygment Productions to encourage entrepreneurship across Pittsburgh neighborhoods. Homewood residents in particular struggle with high crime and unemployment rates; so other community leaders and Paulisick opened The Shop as an incubator hub for small businesses to increase job opportunities locally. Furthermore, Paulisick co-founded and serves on the board of TEEMA Solutions Group – an HR & staffing agency founded by Paulisick that uses data on electronic payment transactions – in Homewood specifically.
