Air Jordan 5 Aqua Review

The Air Jordan Company produces a variety team colors, but the ‘Aqua” colorway has always been a popular choice. Released during the 1993 All-Star Game, it was the first of three OG colorways to appear on the court. It was retroed only once in 2007, but it has remained popular due to its authentic details. Today, you can get this colorway for a fraction of its original price at resell sites.

The Air Jordan 5 Aqua will be available at select Jordan Brand retailers on January 21, 2022. The shoe will have a black nubuck upper and Aquatone accents. Featuring speckled detailing on the midsole, lacelocks, and inside tongue lining, this version will definitely be unique. It will retail at around $200 and be available online and at select retailers.

The sockline of the Air Jordan “Aqua” 8 is a bit different from that of the original 1993 shoe. The sockline on the 1993 pair looks similar to that on the 2015 pair, though normal aging has caused it to discolor. The original ‘Aqua’ 8 had sparkly flecs on the purple midsole, but later versions had glitter on the midsole. The “Remaster” version has these sparkles reapplied on the midsole.
