Daniel Bistrican

Daniel Andrew Bistrican was a man who celebrated life and deeply valued his family. He was known to all who knew him, yet was especially fond of his son Grayson whom he deeply loved. Unfortunately he was predeceased by both brother Craig Slavicek and grandparents William Peterson, Virginia Bistrican, and Jay Wissner.

Early Life and Education

Daniel Bistrican was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He attended the University of Pittsburgh where he earned a degree in physics before continuing on to Northwestern University to complete graduate school for aeronautical engineering – eventually earning his doctorate there as well. While not particularly popular among Hollywood film producers or theater audiences alike, Daniel enjoyed critical acclaim for his work in European cinema and theatre productions.

He was the son of Thomas and Jennifer Slavicek and step-son to Daniel Bistrican. Additionally, he is survived by Alexis Riedell and Zoe Slavicek as well as great-grandparents William Peterson and Virginia Peterson as well as Glen and Kathy Wissner; as well as Andrew and Ruth Bistrican as grandparents.

Funeral services will take place on Monday, April 23 at Our Lady of Bistrica Church in Lackawanna and interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Professional Career

Daniel Andrew Bistrican attended Midlands Technical College in Columbia, South Carolina. He enjoyed sports and watching his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers; always thinking up ways to make and invest his money. Dan leaves behind his wife Kristen and their son Grayson; his parents; sister Zoe Slavicek (Jake); aunts Maureen Nemec and Jeri Bauer; grandparents Virginia Peterson and Glen and Kathy Wissner as well as in-laws David and Paula Collier of Taylorville, IL as Barbara and Lyndsay Collier of Metairie LA.

Personal Life

At all times he was looking for ways to make money; be it creating the latest app or investing in an unknown up and coming company. An avid Steelers fan, Grayson was married to Kristen Bistrican with whom he shared one son: Grayson. Survivors include his father Andrew Bistrican; brothers Alexis Riedell and Zoe Slavicek, nieces Maureen Nemec, Jeri Bauer and Wendy Schoen; nephews Adam and Daniel Bistrican along with Virginia Peterson as well as grandparents Glen and Kathy Wissner as well as many extended family and close friends.

Net Worth

He was an adoring husband to Kristen and an amazing father to Grayson, as well as being their closest companion. Craig Slavicek survives him along with great grandparents William Peterson, Virginia Wissner, Jay Wissner as well as Andrew and Ruth Bistrican as well as numerous cousins, close friends and church family who will mourn his sudden departure far too soon.
