The Life of St. Daniel Narssi

Personal Life

At twelve, St. Daniel left his parents and joined a monastery. There he experienced visions and met Saint Simeon whom he greatly admired, who lived atop a column – so Daniel made this happen for himself as well.

Over time, Daniel performed miracles and became popular. However, his popularity attracted jealous individuals who sought to destroy him.

He spent nine years exorcising demons from a pagan temple while only leaving a small window open so people could communicate with him – this enabled him to earn the reputation as an amazing saint.

During his time, he healed lepers and gave a woman her son. Additionally, he was famed for enduring long hours on a column and performing other miraculous healing techniques.
