Early Life and Education
Daniel hails from Dayton, Ohio where his passions for paper and history led to a double major in history and paper science. Daniel also served as an archivist with Ohio History Service Corps – an AmeriCorps program which assists local historical organizations – his host site was NAAMCC; specifically enjoying working with their audiovisual collections.
As a tax partner, Daniel advises high net worth clients and their families on advanced wealth transfer techniques that take into account non-tax goals such as family businesses, philanthropy and trust and estate administration. A thorough researcher who conducts careful analyses on legal, regulatory and legislative tax policy.
As a member of Jersey City City Council at large, he has advocated for economic and responsible growth of Jersey City. Since taking office he has kept taxes flat while helping lead it to its lowest unemployment rate ever recorded in history.

He advises both public and private companies in various industries on federal income tax compliance and accounting matters, with extensive experience handling complex international issues such as reorganizations/acquisition issues, foreign investment company structuring/repatriation/repatriation procedures/transfer pricing issues/interpretation of international tax treaties/international tax treaty interpretation etc.
He provides advice to high-net-worth individuals regarding US domestic and cross-border estate and wealth transfer planning issues, with particular expertise in helping reduce taxes such as income, gift and generation skipping taxes through effective utilization of trusts, foundations and family offices.
Daniel takes an extremely pragmatic and meticulous approach to tax matters for his clients, helping them efficiently resolve complex issues efficiently. His extensive expertise includes helping secure payment in lieu of taxes agreements for redevelopment projects as well as State incentive programs.

Daniel and his family are actively engaged in their community. Daniel has served on various local organization and philanthropic boards, while also helping found a giving circle in Louisville.
When not working, he enjoys spending time with his family playing pickleball and tennis, listening to country music and attending country music concerts.
Professionally, he speaks at conferences and seminars on tax topics, serves on the American Bar Association State and Local Tax Committee and was on Greater Louisville Inc’s (GLI) Board of Directors as well as its Tax Reform Task Force.
