Daniel White – An Expert in Litigation

Daniel White is an expert litigator, recognized by multiple publications as one of the premier lawyers. A member of Trial Lawyers Association of South Carolina and listed in Best Lawyers in America in five litigation categories, White has become an eminent litigator over time.

Early Life and Education

Daniel was born in Long Beach, California to Irish-American working class parents. Daniel attended school until being expelled for violence during his junior year; then transferred to Visitacion Valley High School where he excelled athletically while joining their Thespian Society.

Daniel worked as a shoemaker’s apprentice before entering his family business of barbering and studying to become a physician. In 1880 he was accepted into a three-year apprenticeship under Henry Palmer, an esteemed surgeon. Later, Daniel continued his studies at Chicago Medical College.

He was an influential Funder leader in Virginia state Senate, often advocating positions which resonated with voters across the state. In 1877 he made an aggressive run at winning Conservative gubernatorial nomination but lost to an anti-debt settlement candidate from Readjuster party.

Professional Career

Daniel is a Partner at our firm and has been recognized with five Super Lawyer awards since 2009. These include U.S. News & World Report, Best Lawyers and Chambers USA: America’s Leading Business Lawyers. Additionally, Daniel is an active member of both Southern Trial Lawyers Association and American College of Trial Lawyers.

White was an NFL quarterback and punter with the Dallas Cowboys, becoming one of only a few ever to concurrently start both positions after Roger Staubach retired. Following that success he later served as coach in the Arena Football League.

He is an amateur golfer and boasts of hitting a 325 yard drive. He and his wife reside in New Hampshire.

White’s passion and devotion to his faith earned him recognition as a religious saint. For 33 years and 3 months, he spent his days standing atop a column in a public square exorcising evil spirits from those passing by both on foot and ships passing nearby.

He was an adherent of Virginia-style states’ rights conservatism, aligning himself with an emerging party organization which concentrated political power into fewer hands. Additionally, he supported an inflationary monetary policy and education funding.

Josh Brolin played him in the 2008 film Milk, chronicling their relationship until Harvey Milk’s assassination and receiving eight Academy Award nominations overall. It was an enormous box office hit.
