Dave Crossett – A True HIM

David Crossett was a renowned Tillsonburg merchant who tragically passed away in January 2018. Born in Bayham Township of Elgin County, his business ventures included running his flour and feed store.

He died from crushing injuries sustained when his vehicle was crushed by a tree he was cutting down on his property. Berks County Deputy Coroner Melissa Spuhler declared him deceased at 6:34 p.m.

Early Life and Education

David Crossett, 39, tragically perished while trying to cut down a tree in Ruscombmanor Township, Berks County on June 30th 2012. He was pronounced dead by Berks County deputy coroner Melissa Spuhler at 6:34 p.m. that same evening.

He was a third-year law student at Regent University in Virginia with academic interests spanning counseling, education and environmental sustainability.

He served as editor of the Regent Law Review and excelled academically, finishing 3rd in his class. Throughout his career, he earned numerous honors and awards.

Professional Career

Crossett was a small town, but it became big in the forest products industry. It boasted one of the world’s largest Kraft paper plants in the late 1930s and an industry division producing and marketing specialty chemicals and charcoal in the 1950s.

The city was an early leader in the modern labor movement. Its progressive leaders understood the value of having a strong union presence for both their business and local community.

David Crossett has been in the legal field since 1985 and is an owner of Cornerstone Law Firm. As a senior partner, his extensive experience includes helping clients with legal matters related to employment, property and insurance. Furthermore, he assists employers create successful workplace policies and training programs that guarantee employee safety.

Achievement and Honors

Dave Crossett was an accomplished attorney who co-owned his own firm. His passion was serving others and serving God. As a member of Fleetwood Bible Church in Berks County, PA, Dave served as Chairman of the Elder Board.

He earned his Juris Doctorate from Regent University School of Law. Additionally, he attended Word of Life Bible Institute in New York and Moody Bible Institute in Chicago.

He served as Game Coordinator for the Army-Navy Football Game in 2020 and Trip Coordinator for Army’s AutoZone Liberty Bowl visit to West Point that year. Despite his busy work schedule, he found time to mentor and support many soldiers’ families. A dedicated husband and father, he believed hard work is the key to success.

Personal Life

Dave Crossett served in the United States Navy and tragically passed away during battle aboard USS Utah during 1941.

He was a New Hampshire native and one of four New Hampshire men killed in the attack on Pearl Harbor. His name is inscribed on the tablets commemorating those gone missing at Honolulu Memorial.

Detectives in Ada County began investigating Crossett after one of his victims revealed he had been having sexual contact with her for some time. They then interviewed other victims and created a safety plan to gather evidence against him.
