Dave Whalen has owned his plumbing, heating and refrigeration business in Rose Creek for 42 years. Now it is being sold to Rory Evans of Choice Heating and Air Conditioning out of Racine.

Dave’s customers won’t experience much change during this transition. They will continue to receive the same excellent service they have enjoyed for so long!

Early Life and Education

Dave Plumbing’s dream job was to become a plumber. This goal became reality at 18 when he began working side jobs and learning the trades.

He took his dream seriously and worked diligently towards its realization. Fortunately, he had teachers who cared about him and motivated him to reach for it.

After graduating high school, he pursued trade school and earned his master plumber license. Ultimately, he returned to Maryland and established his own business ventures.

He founded Horizon Services in 1996, initially specializing in plumbing but later adding heating and air conditioning services as well. By 1998 his business had grown to 1.6 million dollars in revenue; by 2000 it reached 8 million.

Professional Career

Dave Groulx is an experienced professional in the plumbing industry who has seen it all and done it all. His vast brain cells have been put to good use designing and engineering many high-end facilities around Denver metro area. For someone with such passion for all things plumbing, Dave has had his fair share of highs and lows along the way; much of his success can be attributed to being a family man and dedicated husband who’s willing to make sacrifices for success – plus, his employer pays him well!

Dave Plumbing has earned a variety of awards and recognition throughout his career, while also contributing to the plumbing industry through various organizations.

Dave has a deep-seated dedication to education. He believes that education can make an individual’s life better for the better.

He is an enthusiastic teacher and has guided hundreds of students in the trades. Currently, he serves as plumbing instructor at Red River College.

Recently, Five Star Plumbing Heating Cooling and Electrical of Greer, South Carolina was honored by Lennox Industries – an HVAC equipment manufacturer – with the Dave Lennox Signature Series Sales Award and Lennox Training Excellence Award. These awards recognize dealers who sell quality products and provide outstanding training programs in the industry. As one such dealer, Five Star Plumbing Heating Cooling and Electrical has earned these distinctions.

Personal Life

Dave Plumbing has been in business for over 30 years, serving the Hudson Valley region including Columbia, Greene and Dutchess counties. He’s known for his meticulous attention to detail and speedy completion of jobs – not forgetting his signature octopus mug which makes for a fine cup of coffee!

He was renowned for his stunning bathroom remodel, complete with the best toilet in town (that actually works!). But his favorite part of the job was finally being able to leave his home again after over two decades – a project which had been underway since 2002 and culminated in him having his dream home back.

Dave Plumbing is one of the UK’s premier plumbers. His net worth is estimated to be PS70 million and he was awarded an OBE for his services to the industry.
