David Charlton has had a deep-seated passion for yoga since the age of 15 and completed his MA in Buddhist philosophy in 1993. As one of the premier yoga teachers in the UK, he co-founded Sadhana Mala – an organisation dedicated to yoga teacher training and retreats – which offers retreats for practitioners worldwide.

He is a member of both the Society of Teachers of Yoga and Advisory Committee for Yoga Alliance UK, as well as being on the board of directors at The Living Yoga Centre, a London-based yoga studio.

Personal Life

David Charlton was a kindhearted soul who deeply loved his family and friends. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need and would do anything for his community.

He was an avid reader and photographer, as well as belonging to several rod and gun clubs.

On April 22, 2022, Jonathan Matthew Charlton (Felicia) passed away at 79 years of age. Survived by his eldest son Jonathan Matthew Charlton and only granddaughter Elaine Hope.
