Early Life and Education
Early in a child’s life (birth to five), social interaction with caregivers, other kids, and adults forms the basis of learning and development. These interactions shape both mental and physical health of an individual as well as contribute to academic success throughout schooling.
The OECD recognizes early childhood education as an essential indicator for a nation’s health and development, while UNESCO includes high-quality ECE programs among its Sustainable Development Goals. Ultimately, investments in ECE lead to improved health outcomes across populations as well as improvements in economic development and social inclusion.
