Doja Cat Performs at Atlantis Paradise Island on New Year’s Day 2022
Doja Cat celebrated her 26th birthday in a unique way by going all out and channeling Princess Kida from the 2001 Disney animated movie Atlantis: The Lost Empire. The singer posed in a blue bandeau and loincloth-inspired skirt, accessorizing with an emerald pendant and gold arm cuff. She also sported a pair of strappy stilettos.
The Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter will perform an exclusive outdoor concert at the Atlantis Paradise Island resort on New Year’s Day 2022. This concert will be part of the Atlantis LIVE entertainment series, which gives guests access to world-class artists and musicians. The intimate concert is set for eight PM on Jan. 1, so get there early.
After releasing her debut album on Soundcloud, Doja Cat has continued to release music. Her most recent album, Hot Pink, went platinum with over fourteen billion streams worldwide. The album contains the hits Juicy, Say So, and Streets. The latter became an internet sensation, as it was used for the soundtrack of the Silhouette Challenge.
The album spanned genres, from pop to r&b. It also generated the highest first-day Spotify streams for a female rapper. It was the top Pop album upon release and was the top female R&B debut in 2021. The lead single, “Kiss Me More”, is platinum certified by the RIAA and has received more than 2.8 billion streams globally. The album has also been the subject of numerous awards, including the GRAMMY Awards and the MTV VMAs.
Atlantis: The Lost Empire received a direct-to-video sequel, Atlantis: Milo’s Return, in 2001. Both Milo and Kida reunite in this sequel. While the film is considered a Disney animated feature, it’s considered one of the less-popular animated features.
