Forrest Gump Timeline

The movie is set in the 1970s when Forrest Gump is getting out of the army. John Lennon performs on the “Dick Cavett” Show during this time. Although the album is not well received, Lennon still makes an appearance. In the same year, the first manned space flight takes place, and Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin are aboard the Apollo 11 spacecraft.

As the narrator of the movie, Forrest gump reveals important events in American history through his own life. After being diagnosed with a debilitating leg disorder at a young age, he grows up, attends college, stars in football, joins the army, and finally returns to his hometown of Greenbow.

In 1974, Lt. Dan joins him on his shrimping boat, and he sarcastically tells him to “pray for shrimp.” Despite Hurricane Carmen, the two men manage to get a monopoly in the shrimping industry and start the Bubba Gump Shrimp Corporation. The company is so successful that the company is even featured on hats. Meanwhile, Forrest’s mother dies from cancer and he is left to mow lawns.

As the Forrest Gump timeline unfolds, the events are not as logical as one might think. A child who just started school might be a little late. He could be a year behind or a few years behind. A child who is three years behind in his education can still marry.

As a child, Forrest gump is born into a poor Louisiana shrimping family in 1943. Bubba would later become his best friend. Aside from his humble beginnings, Forrest gump’s life goes through many difficult times and influences the culture of the United States. However, despite his impediments, he eventually ends up sending his son to school.
