George Trammell
George Trammell was a legendary Major League Baseball player and an integral member of the Detroit Tigers.

Early Life and Education
Early childhood experiences can have a lasting effect on a child’s mental and physical wellbeing. Whether positive or negative, these events form the basis for lifelong mental and physical health issues that will continue to shape them as an adult.
During childhood, the brain develops rapidly with billions of connections between individual neurons. To ensure a child’s optimal development, they need access to mechanisms and interventions that promote this growth.
That is why it is so essential to provide children with quality early education and learning environments. Studies show that children who receive such experiences are more likely to succeed academically, require fewer repeat grades, and graduate on time.
Professional Career
For two decades, Trammell was a standout shortstop for the Tigers, leading them to victories and ultimately earning him a place in baseball history. His sterling play helped propel them towards championships and cemented his place in history as an induction candidate into the Hall of Fame.
He was selected for six All-Star teams and earned three Silver Slugger Awards and four Gold Gloves. Additionally, he finished in the top 10 in MVP voting three times.
Detroit won two consecutive AL East titles under Trammell in his first two seasons as manager, but unfortunately in 1989 they finished last in the division due to injuries.
Achievements and Honors
George Trammell accomplished much during his career. He was a three-time American League All-Star, two-time Gold Glove winner and earned the World Series MVP award in 1984.
In 1987, he spearheaded the Detroit Tigers to their first American League East title with an amazing season. He won the AL batting title and finished second to George Bell in MVP voting.
Following his playing days, Trammell served as first base, outfield and base-running coach for the Detroit Tigers from 1997 through 1999. Though they had a good relationship with him, he was disappointed when they failed to inform him of any plans to invite him back. Later that same year he joined San Diego Padres coaching staff.
