Jack Huffard Joins Immersive Labs Board of Directors

Jack Huffard is a prominent American business leader and cybersecurity industry icon. He co-founded Tenable Network Security – manufacturer of the Nessus vulnerability scanner as well as other products – and currently serves as President and Chief Operating Officer.

Strivacity, based out of Herndon, Virginia and offering low-code customer identity and access management solutions, successfully completed their $20 Million Series A2 round, led by SignalFire with participation from Ten Eleven Ventures, Mandiant, Tenable’s Jack Huffard as well as other investors.

Early Life and Education

Huffard was born and raised in Greybull, Wyoming and attended Natrona County High School before enrolling at Casper College and eventually the University of Wyoming. He earned his undergraduate degree in business administration at Washington and Lee University and then completed an MBA degree at Babson College’s Franklin W. Olin Graduate School of Business. Huffard is an active participant in his community, serving on multiple boards such as Norfolk Southern Corporation, Immersive Labs Ltd and W@tchtower LLC as well as being a member of the National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee. Experience with software companies is among his specialties, from founding to overseeing their early stages and eventual IPOs. His cybersecurity knowledge will be an asset on Immersive Labs’ board of directors. Furthermore, he has led multiple successful venture rounds and possesses deep insight into growth strategies.

Professional Career

Huffard has over two decades of experience as an accomplished executive for both startup and growth software companies, with international go-to-market, operational, and strategic planning experience. This gives him unique insight into leading an organization from inception through its initial public offering (IPO).

He co-founded Tenable Network Security in 2002 and served as its president and chief operating officer until 2018. As such, he oversaw corporate strategy, business operations, venture funding and initial public offering processes as well as venture funding decisions for Tenable.

He serves on the boards of directors for Norfolk Southern Corporation, Workstorm and Immersive Labs; is also an adviser on pressing national security issues with his membership of the National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee; holds both bachelor’s degree from Washington & Lee University as well as an MBA degree from Babson College.

Jack serves on President Trump’s National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee as well as Norfolk Southern Corporation and Immersive Labs boards – Goldman Sachs Value Accelerator boards are also among his affiliations.

As well as serving on the board of trustees for Washington and Lee University’s Williams School and on its Advisory Board for National Outdoor Leadership School, he and his wife Katie live in McLean, Virginia with three sons, Jack Sam and Brown.
