Early Life and Education
Barbe is a music producer, engineer and writer based in Athens, Georgia. He has produced hundreds of recordings with artists such as Drive-By Truckers, Deerhunter, the Glands, Jerry Joseph, Amy Ray and k.d. lang.
He is co-owner of Chase Park Transduction studio in Athens, Georgia with two other co-owners. They have been running the studio since 1997.

Barbe, selected in the second round of the 1997 NFL Draft by the New York Giants, began his career at running back and rushed for 511 yards during his rookie season with them. Unfortunately, he missed four games with a knee injury but returned to start in two of their final games.
He steadily improved as a runner by increasing his strength training regimen. He earned a reputation for his exceptional cutback running, quick feet and superior running vision.
After retiring from the NFL, he embarked on a career as a television broadcaster. He hosted lifestyle segments and reported news stories for Today, Football Night in America/Sunday Night Football, as well as filling Willie Geist’s spot on MSNBC’s Morning Joe show.
