John Bisset
John Bisset is a British guitarist and a free improviser. He performs in a number of small groups and leads the London Electric Guitar Orchestra (or L.E.G.O).
He is a member of the London Improvisers Orchestra. He also collaborates with percussionist Burkhard Beins. He has been a guest performer with Lawrence “Butch” Morris and the Skyscraper Touring Group.
Early Life and Education
John Bisset began his musical career as a teenager, playing in bands throughout New Zealand. He also spent time playing in the Manchester Musicians’ Collective, brushing elbows with songwriters Trevor Wishart and Simon Holt.
He later went on to join Levi Smith’s Clefs in Sydney, Australia. He was a primary songwriter for the group, and they played at one of the city’s most popular venues, the Whiskey Au Go Go.
