At an early age, he made the decision to seek a better life. He left England in search of fortune during the California gold rush.

He eventually returned to Liverpool, England and rejoined his two sisters.

Early Life and Education

Hambleton’s parents were poor and did not have much money, so he spent his youth working as a dock labourer in Liverpool. It was during this period that Hambleton experienced spiritual awakening and decided to become a preacher.

Eventually, he left his labouring trade and dedicated himself to evangelism full time. He traveled throughout England and Scotland, visiting cities, towns, and villages alike.

He had a profound effect on many, often teaching in public schools and engaging in Bible carriage work.

John Hambleton has made a name for himself in the field of emergency medical services (EMS) and first aid training. As founder of Frontline Emergency Care, an organization which offers first aid instruction to hospitals, schools, and community groups around the country, his expertise is well-recognized.

He has had a long and distinguished career in software design and entrepreneurship, earning him recognition as an angel investor. Additionally, he is active MMA fighter having participated in 4 bouts with 3 wins and one loss. However, what truly sets him apart from others is the people he’s met along the way; many have become lifelong friends. Hambleton enjoyed a distinguished career in the Navy, serving aboard various vessels throughout the Mediterranean and Caribbean regions.

He served in special duty during the Civil War and was involved in a variety of other endeavors.

Throughout his lifetime, he received numerous honors and accolades, such as the Gold Medal of Honor in Vietnam and a Medal of Honor from President Gerald Ford.

He had achieved many accomplishments, one of which being saving the life of a fellow serviceman during the Vietnam War. This act of heroism marked an important turning point in history.

Personal Life

John Hambleton was an incredible man; he traveled widely and preached to many people with the passion of helping people reach their full potentials in life, becoming all God created them to be.

He enjoyed working in his garden and feeding squirrels and birds. On February 27, 2014, he passed away at 90 years old.

He was predeceased by a son and four brothers. Survived by his wife Leeanna Mary (Crites) Hambleton of Winchester, VA; siblings Roena Patterson of Bartlesville; Joyce Hambleton of Dennis; Steve (Marsha) Hambleton of Paola; Kathy Fought from Alluwe OK; Rodney (Edwina) Hambleton from Parsons all survive him as well.
