John Karol has an impressive resume, boasting education at Deerfield Academy, Williams College (where he majored in chemistry), and Yale Law School. After graduation he spent two years at New York City law firm Lord, Day & Lord before entering private practice.

He then served as an Administrative Officer and Parliament Draftsman in Nyasaland, when that former British Protectorate became Malawi, Africa’s independent nation. In his free time, he wrote and produced films.
