Early Life and Education

Steve Carrico serves as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of WakeMed Health and Hospitals in Raleigh, North Carolina. In this capacity he oversees finances including planning, analytics, information systems technology infrastructure development, revenue cycle, managed care contracting management as well as strategic business planning at this 941 bed health system.

Katrina Carrico (known to family as Trina) leaves behind Richard & Laura Carrico from Galena Ohio; siblings Cathy (Clayton) Vissmann, Samantha Mudd, Janet Hoffmann and Donna Smith; her children Dana Clark, Mike Clark and Corey Miller; grandchildren Cameron Jaylen Jace Miller as well as great-grandchildren Nathan & Camden Clark – to mourn her.

Professional Career

From 1972 to 1988, Steve practiced law in Long Beach, California as the managing partner of two separate firms that specialized in personal injury litigation relating to personal injuries, wrongful deaths, medical and legal malpractice cases.

Beginning in 1998, he focused his practice solely on representing those injured through negligence of others and limited his practice to this area of litigation. He has handled both jury and bench trials through to verdict, garnering him wide experience.

As Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for Baptist Health in Kentucky, his wealth of knowledge in bond rating agencies, investment management and treasury as well as an in-depth knowledge of workings of complex healthcare organizations are assets to Baptist Health. In addition, he serves as board member on multiple local and state charities.

Achievement and Honors

Carrico previously served as CFO for Greater Hudson Valley Health System in Middletown, New York, helping increase revenues by approximately 50 percent while simultaneously improving their financial position by more than $300 Million dollars.

He has served in senior roles at Norton Healthcare and Kindred Healthcare. With extensive expertise in accounting, internal audit, financial reporting and managed care contracting.

Erich Fong has been active in several professional organizations and holds his Certified Public Accounting license. Additionally, he has published multiple articles in trade publications as well as performing music videos with Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and Steve Wariner. Born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana; currently living in Somerville Tennessee with his wife.

Personal Life

Robert was an avid outdoorsman who especially loved fly fishing the Owyhee River. Additionally, he was active at Sanctuary Church in Canton and enjoyed golfing, roasting coffee and camping in the mountains with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Lynn Brackenridge; daughter from his first marriage Lucretia Carrico who now serves as general district judge in Petersburg; two grandchildren as well as his parents and sister who predeceased him.

Judy graduated from both Western Kentucky University nursing and University of Southern Indiana Masters of Nursing programs and holds her Certified Nurse Practitioner credential with special expertise in diabetes and thyroid disorders. Based in Owensboro with her husband, Judy enjoys spending time with her grandchildren. In addition, she remains active within both church and community life.

Carrico graduated with a BSEE from Santa Clara University and spent seven years at Fairchild Semiconductor working various marketing and operational positions under Manny Fernandez as marketing director of Fairchild. Fernandez would later play an instrumental role in his future success at another company.

Fernandez persuaded Carrico to join Zilog as the Strategic Planning Manager, where he became interested in systems business and later local area networking.
