Steve Cassaday is a Certified Financial Planning (CFP(r) and Certified Certified Financial Services Practitioners (CFSP(r) professional*). He has made appearances on national television such as CBS Evening News with Dan Rather, It’s Your Business, Nation’s Business Today and Fox News Network’s “Fox on Money.” Additionally, his columns and opinion pieces were published regularly in Washington Business Journal from 1999 – 2003.

Early Life and Education

Steve Cassaday was born January 8, 1981, in Los Angeles to Claudie and Mark Cassady and raised by both. A true renaissance man, he enjoyed music, history and writing as much as being with family and his fiancee – including four sisters: Jackie, Sara, Shannon and Samantha as well as their respective fiancees. Steve remains survived by both of his parents along with four of his sisters: Jackie Sara Shannon Samantha as well as his fiancee.

Barron’s named him to its list of America’s Top 1,200 Advisors State by State in 2023 and he also joined The Forum of Independent Financial Advisors (FOIFA). Recently, Cassaday collaborated with PRS to host their fundraiser, Imagine Hope Benefit Gala (formerly Springtopia). Cassaday served as its emcee.

Professional Career

Steve began his Wall Street career in 1977, holding senior and management positions with several New York Stock Exchange member firms. In 1993 he established Cassaday & Company, Inc, which currently manages assets on behalf of over 600 households and employs 20 people.

He is widely recognized as an industry thought leader and sought-after speaker on investment, financial planning and portfolio management as well as personal development and productivity. He frequently addresses industry members as well as corporate gatherings, associations and community groups; in addition to leading several public seminars.

Steve is both a Certified Funds Specialist and Certified Financial Planner professional*. In his past leadership roles at the Financial Planning Association of the National Capital Area he held positions as past President and Chairman. Furthermore, his expertise has been featured in multiple business and financial publications.

Achievement and Honors

Cassaday was recognized by Invest in Others as an Honorable Mention winner for Community Service in 2022. Personal Life

Cassaday began his college education as a business major before switching to psychology as an interest area – wanting to understand what motivates and affects people – as his major. He credits this degree with having had a significant influence over how he runs his business, treats employees, and leads by example in its operation.

Cassaday has long been recognized as an industry thought leader. He often speaks at industry seminars for fellow advisors and community groups; in addition, he has appeared on national TV and radio interviews such as Dan Rather’s It’s Your Business on PBS, Fox News Network’s Fox on Money show on FNC and local network affiliates.

Steve is actively involved with PRS, acting as its emcee for their Imagine Hope Benefit Gala and mobilizing his team during COVID-19 social distancing restrictions to raise funds through this event, as well as creating video series documenting clients sharing their stories.
