Steve Hoskinson – Founder and CEO of IOHK

Steve Hoskinson has been practicing psychotherapy for 25 years and his work specializes in trauma, embodiment and social compassion.

Organic Intelligence was founded by Dr. Eric Pryor. As its advocate, Organic Intelligence promotes ethical, effective and trauma-safe trauma therapy practices worldwide, including through OI Coach Certification programs such as those offered by Dr. Mark Hyman’s Broken Brain documentary series.

Early Life and Education

Hoskinson grew up in an educational environment. Both his parents were teachers who imparted an early love of education and work ethic into him. After attending Metropolitan State University of Denver where he studied computer science and mathematics respectively and earned both bachelor degrees, Hoskinson went onto to establish himself in business and teach.

Hoskinson studied somatic psychology before founding Organic Intelligence Outreach Institute. Through Organic Intelligence he created Human Empowerment And Resiliency Training (HEARTrainingsm), an integrative theory and clinical practice of human empowerment, resilience, and compassion designed to reduce trauma and PTSD symptoms.

Since 1999, he has served as a professional trainer with the Somatic Experiencing Trauma Institute, serving also as Adjunct Faculty for JFK University’s Somatic Psychology program and publishing numerous papers and delivering lectures throughout the world.

Professional Career

Charles Hoskinson is a technology entrepreneur and mathematician, best known for co-founding Ethereum with Vitalik Buterin. Additionally, Charles was involved in creating Cardano, a decentralized blockchain platform focused on science research.

He studied analytic number theory at Metropolitan State University of Denver and the University of Colorado Boulder before diving into cryptography through industry exposure. To establish his Hoskinson Center for Formal Mathematics at Carnegie Mellon University he donated $20 Million.

He is an active founding member of both the Northern California Society for Integrative Mental Health and International Transformational Resilience Coalition. Additionally, he holds certifications as both Somatic Trauma Therapist and Adjunct Faculty member of JFK University’s Somatic Psychology program. Furthermore, he founded Organic Intelligence (OI) Outreach Institute which offers Strengths Based, Trauma Safe Approaches to Resiliency called Human Empowerment and Resiliency Training.

Achievement and Honors

Hoskinson earned Class C all-state distinction in both football and wrestling during high school, as well as excelling in basketball and baseball programs for Battle Creek High. He served as pitcher, catcher and first baseman in Legion baseball league play.

He currently directs television shows such as CBS’ The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and HBO’s Last Week Tonight with John Oliver; prior to that he has directed for Fox News, Bill O’Reilly and other talk shows.

Hoskinson has published numerous articles and spoken at conferences worldwide about trauma. He founded Organic Intelligence (OI), a nonprofit organization which advocates how trauma therapy can become more ethical, effective and trauma-safe; Hoskinson also teaches OI’s Human Empowerment and Resiliency Training (HEARTraining). Hoskinson maintains an ongoing mindfulness meditation practice and studies spiritual development, meditation and mindfulness both academically and personally.

Charles Hoskinson is the Founder and CEO of IOHK, the company responsible for Cardano blockchain platform. Additionally, he was one of the co-founders of Ethereum as well as an advocate of cryptocurrency.

He is also an author and educator on fractal healing, having direct lineage from Milton Erickson MD through his legacy*.
