Steve Thurman Passes Away

Steve loved his family above all else in this world and made sure everyone in it knew it. He leaves behind Nicole, sons Jesse and Dylan and daughters Madison, Kenzie and Bailey along with Rex and Bella as his legacy.

Thurman alleges his due process rights have been infringed by the prosecution’s failure to honor their promises as agreed in a plea deal.

Early Life and Education

Steve was a man of his word, never forgetting those who meant so much to him. His love was reciprocated by Nicole, Raeann, and Carissa whom he held close. They enjoyed kayaking, camping and weekend pool time together as much as kayaking or anything else they could find to do together. Steve took great pleasure in running his business successfully while always seeking ways to better it.

He was also a member of the First United Methodist Church in Enid and held multiple local positions such as committee membership.

Professional Career

At East Texas State University, Thurman studied agriculture. Since graduating he has spent decades in the agriculture industry and now heads Blue Norther Investments LLC – a holding company which oversees global crop production consultancy firm 45th & Farm and has established The Thurman Family Agricultural Endowment at Texas A&M Commerce that will assist students majoring in Agribusiness or joining Livestock and Meat Judging Teams.

Thurman first worked with legendary boxing trainer Ben Getty as an amateur, before joining up with Dan Birmingham – known for turning Jeff Lacey and Winky Wright into world champions – as an experienced pro. Thurman went on to fight 30 times – winning 22 outright victories.

As an analyst for FOX Sports boxing events such as Premier Boxing Champions events and serving as desk analyst.

Achievement and Honors

Thurman has long been recognized for both his success on the field and community involvement off it, such as receiving the AHRC NYC Foundation’s Thurman LEGEND Award. Additionally, he co-wrote “Wondering Where You Are” with Universal/Republic artist Tyrone Wells.

Thurman graduated from Coquille High School in Centralia, Oregon and attended Linfield University on a track scholarship for two years before switching over to college wrestling at Linfield.

This annual event recognizes late Yankees and Mets World Champion catcher Thurman Munson and raises funds for the AHRC NYC Foundation – supporting programs which allow children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to lead fuller lives. Honorees include Yankees All-Star pitcher Dellin Betances; New York Mets 1986 World Champion outfielder Mookie Wilson; New York Giants punter Steve Weatherford; Business & Philanthropic Leadership Award Recipient Joel S Isaacson as well as Diana Munson himself.

Steve Thurman specialized in strategic and enterprise development – particularly crop protection. He advised clients on commercializing plant-based peptide biostimulants as well as generic formulations of glyphosate in North America, Europe, and Argentina.
