Steve Yamin co-founded and serves as co-managing partner of M&Y Personal Injury Lawyers. Throughout his legal career, he has dedicated himself to aiding injured victims and their families fight back against large insurance companies that try to take advantage of them.

He obtained his law degree from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles where he graduated with high distinction and was honored with membership into the Order of the Coif honor society. Licensed to practice law throughout all California state courts.

Early Life and Education

Yamin was brought up in a loving, supportive family unit that valued moral values such as Sunday masses, holiday traditions and home-cooked meals. From this environment she learned the value of hard work, dedication and perseverance.

She attended law school to pursue her dreams, graduating at the top of her class with an impressive scholarship. Additionally, during law school years she participated in a civil law clinic working real cases while gaining invaluable experience.

Eli’s quartet blues band has served as cultural ambassadors for the U.S. Department of State in Russia, Guatemala and Mali as well as other international locations. His CDs can be heard on SiriusXM Radio and Jazz88 WBGO Newark stations; additionally he has created children-specific musicals designed to foster empathy and love within audiences.

Professional Career

Yamin is the founder of Jazz Power Initiative and has trained over one thousand teachers and artists in his approach to teaching rooted in jazz culture and swing rhythm. Additionally, he has published multiple articles related to jazz music education such as one published in Chamber Music America Magazine.

Since 2004, he has been practicing private law, representing clients with significant personal injury cases related to car/motorcycle accidents, boating accidents, trucking accidents, premises liability claims and brain injuries. Throughout this time period he has successfully recovered millions of dollars for his clients.

His own experience as an accident victim drives him to advocate for the rights of injured clients against multibillion-dollar insurance companies, often the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum and Super Lawyers. He is a member of both groups.

Achievement and Honors

Steven Yamin earned the highest course grade in Wills & Trusts class at Columbia Law School, graduating Cum Laude. Additionally, he served on Columbia’s Law Review as well as being named James Kent & Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar.

He made his American Idol season 7 top three results show appearance with Katharine McPhee and Taylor Hicks, singing Queen’s “Somebody to Love”. Later he performed it live at the final concert with Paula Abdul, Brian May and Roger Taylor from Queen.

He visited the Philippines in September 2007 to perform free mall concerts at Ayala Malls and record his self-titled debut album for Avex Trax before releasing it in Japan. A single from this record called “Wait for You” even featured in a Toyota Vitz commercial airing throughout Japan.

Personal Life

Yamin was raised by a strong family. His father was an industrious hard worker who tirelessly struggled through hard times and economic slumps to provide for his children’s well-being, never giving up on his dream.

In 2004, he graduated with Order of the Coif Honors from Loyola Law School Los Angeles and started his legal career at M&Y Personal Injury Lawyers that same year as a personal injury attorney. Since then he has also become an active musician performing as opening act for various musical artists while advocating on their behalf for wrongful death cases where loved ones were lost due to no fault of their own.

Elliott Yamin is an award-winning singer who first came to national attention after finishing third on American Idol reality TV show.
