Once she graduated, she immediately joined the suffragette movement and joined the National American Woman Suffrage Association where she met Susan B Anthony – helping build a reputation as a powerful activist.

In 1913, she organized a Black women’s march on Washington, D.C. to protest Alice Paul’s decision to force Black suffragists to walk at the back of Woman Suffrage parades. For her efforts she received honorary degrees from Oberlin College and Howard University.

Thomas has extensive expertise in both residential and commercial real estate development. He often represents local governments and private parties at both trial and appellate levels in matters relating to land use/zoning denials, contract disputes and tort claims associated with real property ownership.

Thomas had two successful starts for USC as strong side cornerback before suffering torn ligaments in his right knee against Arkansas and having to miss the remainder of 2005 and 2006. Thomas returned and resumed starting right cornerback duties upon return in 2006.

He made 45 tackles, 1 interception and 4 passes defended as well as blocking a kick, forcing and recovering a fumble, forcing one into an opponent’s goalposts, blocking kicks, blocking a kicker’s effort as well as forcing and recovering one fumble from an opponent. Thomas Gerald Terrell was an esteemed journalist, photographer, deejay and promoter who championed jazz, funk, rock and hip-hop acts from all genres of music. A pioneer in identifying talent and trends while supporting many top musicians of today.

She served as president of several women’s clubs and societies and contributed regularly to black newspapers. Additionally, she supported Booker T Washington and Frederick Douglass during their various civil rights campaigns and worked alongside them on multiple civil rights campaigns.

She advocated for the integration of different women’s groups and worked towards equal opportunities. Furthermore, she was an outspoken opponent to lynching and other forms of unlawful discrimination.

Personal Life

He was known for his honey baritone radio voice and in-depth music knowledge, having made an indelible mark on DC’s music scene as program director at WHFS and WPFW radio stations and later founding non-profit music promoter District Curators Inc. In addition, he provided reviews for All Things Considered on National Public Radio.

Throughout his later years, he was an active member of Tallapoosa Primitive Baptist Church and volunteered at the Lions Club steak dinner. His passions included country music and gardening. Above all else, however, he loved spending time with family – making friends wherever possible along the way.

He practiced law at Kirk, Kirk, Howell, Cutler & Thomas L.L.P and handled civil litigation, general business representation and estate planning for individuals and small businesses alike. Additionally he assisted injured workers to pursue workers’ compensation claims while aiding executors in settling inheritance disputes.
